Intense storms are advancing significantly through our territory and bring with them especially strong winds and a large amount of precipitation. After Kysucie, Záhorie also found itself underwater. The storm line from Bohemia today in the afternoon around 5:00 p.m. crossed the borders of our territory, first hitting Kysuce, where the storms brought a huge amount of torrential rain. More than 36 mm of precipitation fell in Čadca within two hours according to official SHMÚ measurements, but according to radar estimates, from 60 to 100 mm of precipitation could have fallen in the area. In the village of Zákopčie and in Čadca – the Rieke district, streams spilled out. The surrounding settlements were also hit by a flash flood in a short time and the water cut off several settlements into the world. Firefighters also went to the rescue. In addition, the storms brought hail and a very strong wind, which broke many branches and trees in Kysucie. For example, firefighters had to remove the seized branches in the center of Žilina. In Kysucké Nové Mesto, the wind rolled a tree. Strong storms flooded Záhorie Another wave of storms hit Záhorie, especially its northern part, where the storms also brought intensified wind and heavy rainfall. There were several roads underwater in the villages of Dojč and Humence in the Senice District, which remained impassable or difficult to pass due to the large amount of water. In the direction of the village of Dojč in the Senice District, a tree also fell on the road and long columns formed there. Thunderstorms are not easing yet Thunderstorms are still quite intense in the evening and also bring significant lightning activity. So far, more than 10,000 lightning strikes have struck. It continues to storm, with the storm line advancing southeast and hitting most of our territory in the late evening. The storms will spread throughout central Slovakia and the area of ​​eastern Slovakia will start to fall apart.
