France: a priest victim of a “dramatic assassination” in Vendée

A priest was the victim of a “dramatic assassination”, Monday, August 9, in the morning, in Vendée, according to a message from the Minister of the Interior posted on Twitter. “A man presented himself in the middle of the morning to the gendarmerie brigade of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre and said he had killed a clergyman,” said a source familiar with the matter.

The man had been placed under judicial supervision as part of the investigation into the fire at Nantes cathedral in July 2020, said this source.
