Legislative 2022: dozens of economists in favor of Nupes, Emmanuel Macron continues his attacks against Jean-Luc Mélenchon – Le Monde

In Isère, the candidate of Nupes Cyrielle Chatelain noted the absence of her profession of faith in letters sent by the prefecture A phone call, then two, dozens since Wednesday. Alerted by friends, Cyrielle Chatelain, 34, had to face the facts: her profession of faith was not included in some of the official letters from the prefecture, addressed to voters in the 2nd district of Isère, located south of Grenoble. This letter is part of the legal organization of the elections. It includes the ballot papers and the presentation of each legislative candidate, and must arrive in the week preceding the ballot. The candidate invested by the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) is therefore deprived of the republican system, in a good part of her constituency. “We have confirmation that at least five municipalities are concerned, including Vizille. It’s a blow for us. Participation is a key to the ballot. Voters’ information is particularly important in our sector,” says Cyrielle Chatelain. An environmental activist since the age of 18, the young woman is running for the first time in an election in an eligible, even favorable position. In 2017, Jean-Charles Colas-Roy (La République en Marche) largely won the election against Alexis Joly, at the time departmental leader of the National Front. The left had been excluded from the second round, divided into multiple candidacies, including that of Taha Bouhaf, obtaining 11.2% in the first round. The militant La France insoumise from Echirolles, strongly supported by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, was approached to present himself this year in Vénissieux (Rhône), before disappearing from the political landscape, because of accusations of sexual assault. The union is therefore decisive for the left in this sector of Isère, which also includes the municipalities of Gières, Saint-Martin-d’Hères. The Nupes candidate contacted the Isère prefecture to find out why her profession of faith is absent from the letters of a good part of the constituency. By e-mail, telephone, and by a message on Twitter relayed this morning by Julien Bayou, secretary general of Europe Ecologie-Les Verts. Without answer. “With our campaign team, we printed new copies this morning, and we are trying to go and post the mail ourselves, but that does not have the same symbolic value,” said Cyrielle Chatelain.
