The weather in Slovakia continues to be affected by the cold front, which waves over our territory and individual precipitation waves form on it. Further heavy rainfall as well as storms await Slovakia in a few hours. Storms have hit our territory in recent hours. These occurred during the night hours, for example, at Gemeri or in the vicinity of Bratislava. It is in the area of Bratislava and the far southwest that it has been raining quite significantly since the morning. Night storms brought the most precipitation, especially to the northern parts of Bratislava, as well as to the southern parts of the Malacky district. In Záhorská Bystrica and Lamač, 40 to 60 mm of rain fell today. The record holder is Stupava, where according to the rain gauge stations 70 mm has already fallen. Even in these moments, the most significant precipitation occurs in western Slovakia. From the area of Šamorín, through Bratislava to above Záhorie, a significant rain is advancing, which has been bringing precipitation here for several hours and it should rain at least until noon. Wait for the rest of the area. It will be especially stormy in the afternoon. The Cold Front, which waves over our territory, will continue to draw from the humid and unstable air in which showers and storms will form, especially during this afternoon. Storms are expected throughout our territory, but especially in central Slovakia and in the mountainous areas of our territory. The main dangerous side effect will be torrential rain during today, which can also cause local floods, which could cause damage and cause problems just like yesterday. The weather will improve over the weekend Storms are expected in our territory on Friday as well. They will decrease significantly on Saturday, when they are expected only occasionally, especially in the east of our territory. The cold front will begin to disintegrate and this will change the nature of the weather. From the west, a higher pressure will begin to slide over our territory, which will bring mostly clear to semi-cloudy weather during the day.
