The Rennes prosecutor’s office confirmed on Wednesday the death of the 19-year-old man knocked down by a biker during an urban rodeo in Rennes on Sunday. “I confirm the death (Wednesday) afternoon of the victim who was hit by the motorcycle,” said Rennes public prosecutor Philippe Astruc in an interview with AFP. Hit in the back, the victim suffered from head trauma and internal bleeding. Resuscitated after a cardio-respiratory arrest, the man, whose vital prognosis was engaged, finally perished in the hospital. A DRIVER ALREADY KNOWN TO THE POLICE SERVICES The driver of the motorcycle, unfavorably known to the police services, was accompanied by a 6-year-old child. Attempting to perform a wheelie, the pilot of the two-wheeler lost control of his machine before hitting the pedestrian in the back. The author of the accident suffered from a fractured tibia and a head trauma, despite the wearing of the helmet observed in him and his passenger. The child was slightly injured in the impact, causing him only a few superficial injuries. According to the Rennes prosecutor, “the driver, still hospitalized, had been placed in police custody (Tuesday) evening” but the latter “had to be lifted because it was” no longer compatible with his state of health “. “The investigations are continuing in particular under the qualification of manslaughter”, concluded the magistrate.
