The prosecutor’s office decided on the governor of the NBS: Kažimír has reason to be satisfied – Nový Čas

First Deputy Attorney General Jozef Kander overturned the accusation of bribery of former Minister of Finance and Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia Peter Kažimír. The management of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic informed about this at a press conference. Kandera pointed out that the accusations were made only on the basis of the statements of the only cooperating accused, the former president of the financial administration, Francis I. He pointed out the discrepancies in his statements, which he said related to “not insignificant” facts. According to him, the legal conditions for bringing charges were not met. The prosecutor of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office accused Kažimír last October of bribery, who subsequently filed a complaint against the accusation. Special Prosecutor Daniel Lipšic rejected her at the end of 2021. In the statement of reasons for the decision, he rejected the attempt to challenge the institution of the cooperating person. Kazimir called the accusation unfair. After his raising, he announced that he wanted to clear his name.
