Monday’s traffic accident on the old road from Trnava to Piešťany claimed two lives and three injured. In the accident, a truck with a car crashed from the overpass onto the road below. TASR was informed about this by the Communication and Home Affairs Department of the Presidium of the Fire and Rescue Corps. Another three cars collided at the overpass. Firefighters from Trnava intervene on the spot with three pieces of firefighting equipment. “According to initial information, the driver of the truck going from Modranka went smoothly in the opposite direction, where there was a collision with a car,” said Mária Linkešová, a spokeswoman for the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trnava. As she added, after the crash, they broke through the barriers and both cars collided from the overpass. “Immediately, another three vehicles collided at the overpass. The police closed road I / 51 and road I / 61 due to rescue work and documenting the accident,” Linkešová informed.
