The crash occurred at a historic grand prix during a demonstration drive. Leclerc entered the Rascasse’s penultimate bend quickly and missed the rear of the 312B3-74 monopost. After the impact, he was still able to continue, but eventually had to stop at the finish line. “I thought I had beaten all the bad luck in Monaco and then I wouldn’t come to Rascasse with one of the most iconic cars in F1 history,” Leclerc said at the time.
