On Wednesday, May 25, the prestigious Cannes Film Festival introduced a novelty by director Baza Luhrmann – Elvis, dedicated to the greatest rock’n’roll legend of all time. However, the key figure in this journey was also the woman of his life and later wife – Priscilla Presley. The enthusiastic audience began to applaud during the film’s closing credits and did not stop for 10 minutes (some sources even say 12 minutes), making the applause outweigh the applause of previous films, which put the audience on their feet. Their collaboration lasted more than two decades, and thanks to it, Presley rose to the top, where he changed forever the form of popular music not only in the United States, but practically all over the world. However, the key person on this journey was also the woman of his life and his later wife – Priscilla Presley. Luhrmann’s magnificent film builds on the dynamics of the life and music of Elvis Presley. The audience was greeted by Austin Butler, who plays Elvis, Tom Hanks, who plays Colonel Parker, and Olivia DeJonge, who plays Priscilla. However, Priscilla Presley herself also took part in the screening, who described the film as beautifully shot and, in her own words, moved her to tears. The film will give the audience a behind-the-scenes look, especially in the relationship with the musician’s mysterious manager – Colonel Tom Parker. .
