Russia: unfailing patriotism at the heart of Vladimir Putin’s strategy

In recent years, Vladimir Putin has never ceased to exalt the culture of remembrance and respect due to veterans. He never misses an opportunity to refer to patriotism and national unity, which he uses as a remedy in the face of difficulties and to justify his external aggressions. A patriotism to which a large majority of Russians, all generations combined, spontaneously adhere, in particular by joining the Unarmia movement created by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
