It was decided by Wednesday’s draw at the World Championships in Tampere, Finland. The winner of the Slovak extra league in the season 2021/2022 Slovan Bratislava was in the fourth basket and the draw started right from him. Former Finnish representative Olli Jokinen awarded Rapperswil in the 3rd to the Slavs from the 3rd basket. His former national team colleague Sami Kapanen drew from the 2nd performance basket and was the third to pull the Red Bull Munich. Finnish Tappara Tampere was chosen first in the final round of the draw, so he had to go to the A-group, but he already had a representative of the Finnish competition and also in the B-group. Tappara therefore headed to the nearest step group, which was the “céčko”. During the draw, the rule was that there could not be two teams from the same league in one group. The Champions League will start on Tuesday, September 1, its finals are scheduled for February 18, 2023. The Slavs also played in the Champions League in the 2021/2022 season, when they received the so-called free card. In the competition between Friborg, Leksand and Třinec, he took the last 4th place in the basic group, when he did not get a point in six matches. The competition will be played in the year 2022/2023 for the first time in Hungary and Slovenia thanks to Fehérvár, resp. Ljubljana. In addition, there will be a competition of five other newcomers.
