The United States plans to allow only tourists who have completed the coronavirus vaccination process, or have received both doses of the vaccine, to enter the country. This was stated by a White House official on condition of anonymity, quoted by the BBC, explaining that no date has been set for the entry into force of the provision. At the moment, to enter the United States it is necessary to show a negative swab for Covid-19 carried out in the previous three days. According to the White House official, the Biden administration is trying to reopen in a “safe and sustainable way”, adding that “with limited exceptions, foreign nationals traveling to the United States from all countries must be fully vaccinated”. White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said last week that the United States “will maintain existing travel restrictions” due to the increase in infections caused by the spread of the Delta variant. More than 70% of American adults have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
