Who was Frederic Gilardot? The 66-year-old civil servant, appointed in March 2019 in the 04, was a pilot, member of the Versoud aerodrome. He was a member of the French bobsleigh team from 1982 to 1986 and deputy national technical director of the French Federation of Ice Sports from 1989 to 1993.Frédéric Gilardot studied Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities (Staps) in Saint-Martin-d’Hères (38), while having results at the national level in judo and bobsleigh. He was then a sports teacher in Reims, director of the resort of La Foux d’Allos (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). Then national bobsleigh coach from 1989 to 1993. In 1993, he became assistant principal of the Roussillon high school (Isère), then high school principal in Chalon-sur-Saône until 2000. He then held the same position at the school complex “Les Eaux claires” in Grenoble until 2006. Then had his first post of Inspector of academy in the Bouches-du-Rhône before joining Cantal. In July 2009, he became technical advisor to the Minister of National Education, Luc Chatel. He then took over as head of the Académie de Savoie.
