Source: Renault Renault Scénic has just ended. This strong name also seemed to end, but Luca intervened. Renault Scénic Vision Concept – this is the full name of the vehicle you are looking at. At the same time, its design should be almost finished. If you think about the totally futuristic interior and transfer it more into a real form, you will get a car that will get on the road in a few years. But this is not just a design exercise. The main purpose is ecology. Up to 70% of the car is made from recycled materials. So he’s such a renegade among cars. Even more interesting – up to 95% of the car can be further recycled, including batteries. And really, he has that car. This is where it becomes interesting (sorry fans of waste management). As if an electric car running on hydrogen was a novelty. If the hydrogen from the tanks does not go into the internal combustion engine, then the fuel cells magically convert it into energy, with the only thing left being water. This electric car has fuel cells with a total output of 16 kW. Wait, isn’t that a mistake? It is not, but it could be, because the electric motor, this time located at the rear, has 160 kW. So where does the difference come from? It’s not from the air, it’s from flashlights. Scénic Vision has a 40 kWh battery. In themselves, they could be enough for 300 km if you tried very hard, but this machine has a range of up to 800 km. It combines a larger battery in the chassis with fuel cells that act as a range extender – range extender. You refuel at home, refuel on the road, and you can burn where only the big wheels take you. Thanks to only 2.5 kg of recycled carbon fiber tank, which is located in Podkapota, Renault was able to increase its range by hundreds of kilometers. At a distance of 800 km, it would need twice as much and twice as heavy a battery. Thus, the curb weight would exceed 2 tons, and the person who drove the electric car burdened in this way knows that it is not a man. The Scenic Vision Concept weighs only 1,700 kg, which is actually the same weight as the smaller purely electric Megane ETECH Electric with a 60 kWh battery. Scenic Vision is 4490 mm long (vs. 4200 with the aforementioned Megane). The width is 1900 mm and the height 1590 mm. The wheelbase is also larger – compared to the outgoing Scenica by 100 and 30 mm, respectively (Scénic and Grand Scénic). The result is more space for the crew than in Scénic. So there is no need to worry about what will happen in 2024 when the car comes on the market. Of course, it gets a version with a battery with a capacity of 60 kWh, maybe even bigger and maybe even a basic 40. Later, the 40 will be joined by the option to “buy” a hydrogen range in such a hybrid package. In short, whether someone likes it or not. Hydrogen has a future and Renault sees it. It will be up to the customers to choose the form of energy storage. The electric Renaults are nicely arranged in a single width. The smallest will be Renault 5, then Megane and the biggest hatchback will be Scénic. Iconic names nicely together. You can find more photos in the gallery.
