Storms: seventeen departments placed in orange vigilance – Ouest-France local editions

Météo France issued, this Friday, May 20, a meteorological vigilance bulletin which concerns seventeen departments of the Paris region and the north of France. Storms are currently rising over the Paris basin, with temporarily sustained rains. Other storms, more organized, currently concern the Mayenne and the Sarthe and go up towards the zones in orange vigilance. Also read: Weather. Heat, thunderstorms, return to normal… What to expect for the weekend The departments concerned by the alert, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., are Val-de-Marne, Seine-et- Marne, Essonne, Yvelines, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine, Paris, Val-d’Oise, Oise, Eure, Marne, Seine-Maritime, Aisne, the Ardennes, the Somme, the North and the Pas-de-Calais. Gusts up to 100 km/h Locally violent thunderstorms will cross the zone in orange vigilance, from west to east between the end of the morning and the end of the afternoon. These storms can occasionally be accompanied by violent gusts of wind that can exceed 100 km/h. The electrical activity may be strong at times. The rainfall accumulations will be locally significant over short periods, with sometimes 10 to 30 mm in less than an hour. Hail is also possible.
