Covid, Ecdc map: Italy still in dark red

Also this week Italy in dark red, in the most Covid risk range, according to the latest update of the color map of the ECDC, elaborated on the basis of the new cases recorded in the last 14 days per 100 thousand inhabitants and the positive rate between tests carried out, weighted by the vaccination rate of the population. Dark red is the color that unites different areas of the continent: all of France, Finland, Austria, Portugal, a good part of Spain (which also includes small areas in lighter red and two regions in the south in gray for via a test level of less than 600 per 100 thousand inhabitants). Belgium and Slovenia remain divided between the two shades of red, while in Greece the dark red predominates more. No areas are green this week. While the only yellow areas are in Ireland (most of the country, except one region in light red), in half of Denmark, and in Slovakia (almost entirely except for a very small area in light red). Light red is the color of Iceland, Latvia and Estonia and characterizes part of Croatia, where the rest of the territory is gray, a color that is advancing in more and more areas of Europe, due to an insufficient test level for determine the stratification of the Covid risk. Whole countries are in this situation: Whole countries like Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria are in gray. For Germany, there are “insufficient data available” for the purposes of the map.
