Thirty years after his last appearance on the Croisette, Tom Cruise is back for the release of “Top Gun: Maverick”. Arriving by helicopter, he raised the temperature of the second day of the festival. It was one of the most anticipated steps of the Cannes Film Festival. The first and last time we saw him on the red carpet was in 1992. For his return and the release of Top Gun: Maverick, thirty six years after the mythical first opus, Tom Cruise saw things in tall: the Hollywood star climbed the steps with a flypast of the Patrouille de France overhead. A staging that overheated the cameras of the photographers. Just as expected, a little earlier in the afternoon the Russian filmmaker Kirill Serebrennikov presented Tchaikovsky’s wife, his new feature film in official competition. Deprived of climbing the stairs twice because he was kept in residence in Russia for his positions, Kirill Serebrennikov finally walked the red carpet.
