“If the trend” of coronavirus infections continues like this, the total number of cases reported in the world since the beginning of the pandemic “could exceed 200 million by next week”. To underline this in the latest weekly report is the World Health Organization which points out that from 26 July to 1 August the cases of Covid increased at the rate of over 570 thousand per day on average, against a daily average of over 540 thousand infections in 7 previous days (19-25 July).
