Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov admitted on Friday that the rapid end of the war with Russia is not in sight. The AP news agency informed about it. Butchers on social media wrote that it will take some time for Western weapons to bring a total turnover in favor of Ukraine. “We are entering a new – long – term phase of this war,” Reznikov said in his Facebook account. “We have extremely difficult weeks ahead of us. No one can say for sure how many there will be,” he added. The Defense Minister also said that Russian forces were unable to cross Ukraine and conquer its capital Kiev and were now “forced to reduce the scale of their targets”. “We are witnessing a strategic turning point in favor of Ukraine. However, this process will take some time,” he wrote. Reznikov said that Ukraine “slowly but still” receives supplies of heavy weapons from Western partners. Kiev expects more weapons after last month’s meeting of defense ministers from more than 40 countries at the US base Ramstein in Germany – Reznikov called it a “historic meeting”. More than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers are already training or preparing to train Western weapons in the coming days.
