Ferdinand Marcos Jr., son of the former dictator, won the presidential election which was held on Monday in the Philippines. The results released are not yet official, but about 90% of the votes have been counted and Marcos’ victory is now certain. Its main opponent, the current vice-president Leni Robredo, instead obtained about half of the votes. On the same day it was also voted for the vice-presidency, and as expected Sara Duterte, the daughter of outgoing authoritarian president Rodrigo Duterte, won.
