Covid today Israel, almost 4,000 infections: record since March

There are almost 4,000 coronavirus infections in Israel today, 3 August 2021, according to data from the bulletin with the numbers of the last 24 hours. The data from the Ministry of Health reported by Ynet refer to another 3,818 Israelis who tested positive for Covid-19 and a positive rate compared to the number of tests carried out reached 3.78%. This is, writes the Jerusalem Post, the most worrying bulletin since the beginning of March and with another 15 deaths since Monday morning, the country has the most serious toll in four months. Patients with conditions defined as serious are 221, nine more than yesterday, 66 more – the newspaper emphasizes – compared to last Tuesday. According to data from the Ministry of Health, adds Haaretz, 42% of patients in serious conditions are not vaccinated against the coronavirus. The active cases, reports Ynet, are 22,345 and are 6,492 victims since the beginning of the pandemic. The coronavirus ministerial cabinet will meet in the next few hours and new restrictions will be discussed.
