Legislative: the National Council of Socialists validates the agreement with the rebellious

The socialist executives have just accepted the agreement signed this Wednesday between the negotiators of rebellious France and those close to Olivier Faure. The 300 executives who spoke voted overwhelmingly in favor of this text with 167 votes for, 101 against and 23 abstentions. The supporters of Olivier Faure see it as a chance to save their group of deputies in the National Assembly while the rebellious have guaranteed 70 constituencies to the Socialists and that, with rare exceptions, the outgoing parliamentarians should be reinvested. little optimism for certain socialist executives after the disastrous score of Anne Hidalgo in the presidential election (1.7%), like Martine Aubry who called for a vote in favor of this text. An agreement which implodes the PS But the agreement takes a bitter taste while several points of the text come back to many reforms of François Hollande. The Socialists have thus pledged to “repeal the El Khomri law”, or to reverse retirement at 60. Olivier Faure also said he was “not sure of the merits” of this reform on France Inter on April 24. The European question was also a sticking point between the two parties. The program of insubordinate France calls for the “opt out”, that is to say the disobedience to the treaties on strategic points, to the chagrin of some of the socialists who saw it as a first step towards a possible Frexit .Several elephants have also taken a stand against this agreement. Jean-Christophe Cambadélis, ex-First Secretary, considers it a “surrender”. Jean-Marc Ayrault, the former Prime Minister, sees it as “a form of resignation”. François Hollande for his part “challenged the agreement on the merits and even on the constituencies”.
