Legislative: Blanquer, Attal, Woerth, Valls … LREM unveils its first candidates – The HuffPost

Just like several of his colleagues in the government. POLITICS – The camp around Emmanuel Macron wants to be united. But not without an assumed and asserted pluralism. This Thursday, May 5, the presidential majority unveiled a first list of 187 candidates invested by its “confederation” called “Together!” for the legislative elections on 12 and 19 June. During a press conference in the afternoon, Édouard Philippe, François Bayrou and Richard Ferrand did everything to show their unity. “Our ambition is to give a stable, dynamic and lively majority” to the President of the Republic, assures the former Prime Minister. “Whole!” therefore brings together the three pillars of the majority, Horizons, the party of Édouard Phillipe, the MoDem of François Bayrou and LREM. “There is no competition between us”, abounds François Bayrou. No competition, but also no unique “block” in which the boss of the Modem “does not believe”. He pleads for “a controlled pluralism” which therefore took the form of the confederation co-chaired by Richard Ferrand and him. A dozen members of the government have been invested: the Minister of National Education Jean Michel Blanquer in the 4th district of Loiret: the spokesperson Gabriel Attal in the 10th district of Hauts-de-Seine; Amélie de Montchalin in the 6th district of Essonne; Elisabeth Borne in the 6th constituency of Calvados; Olivier Dusspot, in the 2nd district of Ardèche; Gérald Darmanin and Laurent Pietraszewski in the North (10th and 11th); Brigitte Klinkert in the Haut-Rhin; Clément Beaune in Paris, in the 7th district; Emmanuelle Wargon in Val-de-Marne.Richard Ferrand is a candidate for his succession in Finistère. Éric Woerth, LR defector recently rallied to Emmanuel Macron will be his candidate in Oise (4th). The former socialist minister Manuel Valls also obtains the nomination in the 5th constituency of French people living abroad, despite an imbroglio with the outgoing LREM deputy. there will be a majority candidate in “virtually” every constituency. With the exception of a few cases “which can only be counted on the fingers of one hand” according to him, where the “extremists” are very “established”. Presenting a candidate would risk “simplifying their lives”, according to the President of the National Assembly. More than half of the nominations are given to outgoing deputies, against 86 new candidates, half of whom come from civil society. Gender parity is respected, with 94 women candidates and 93 candidates. Details of nominations by party were not disclosed. But according to sources from Horizons and MoDem to AFP, the party of the former Prime Minister obtained 58 constituencies and a hundred for that of François Bayrou. Each of the three pillars will therefore be able to form its own group in the Assembly, but will depend on a common funding association which will then distribute the subsidies. “We are together because we are not identical.
