Lawyer Marek Para is an extremely important lawyer in publicized political cases. Not only is he an advocate for illegally prosecuted and imprisoned victims of Matovič’s and Lipšic’s persecution. Like a renowned, internationally recognized legal expert, he boldly speaks of gross violations of the law by investigators, prosecutors and judges, Judge Klimenta in particular. This was stated in the opinion by Robert Fico, chairman of the Smer – Social Democracy (Smer-SD) party, which was mediated by the party’s spokesman Ján Mažgút. Today, the Senate of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic has legally ruled that the accused lawyer Marek Para will be prosecuted for the threat of influencing witnesses. According to Robert Fico, Judge Kliment killed two flies with one blow. “Today’s closure of lawyer Marek Paru, by the way, for nothing, as usual, takes the quality of defense of the illegally prosecuted and damages their rights and at the same time liquidates a person who professionally pointed out the gross abuse of criminal law to liquidate people,” said Smer-SD chief. He asked the lawyers in the leadership of the Slovak Bar Association what else was to happen to them, or whether they were “suffering” until it was their turn just to practice the profession of lawyers. “Dear friends, I know that you have enough of your worries about rising prices and social insecurity. But I must warn you that what they have done to Marek Par today is ordinary fascist crap that awaits anyone who dares to open their mouths against this government and its crimes, “Fico said. Attorney Marek Paru, who was accused of founding, conspiring and supporting a criminal group, was not taken into custody on Sunday, April 24, and released from detention. The prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the accused requested detention due to fears of possible influence of witnesses, ie collusive detention. However, according to the court’s verdict, all important witnesses have already been heard in the criminal proceedings in question. The prosecutor lodged a complaint against the decision. Marek Paru was detained by the National Criminal Agency on Wednesday, April 20, as part of the Caiaphas operation. According to law enforcement agencies, he was supposed to be involved in discrediting Prosecutor Vasil Špirek.
