A court in London sent former German tennis player Boris Becker to prison for two and a half years. He found the six-time Grand Slam champion guilty of illegally manipulating money after going bankrupt in 2017. He was facing a maximum of seven years in prison. Becker, 54, announced his inability to repay his financial obligations less than five years ago. The court subsequently convicted him of concealing the ownership of real estate in Germany and hiding the proceeds from loans worth 825 thousand euros. At a hearing held on April 8, a court in London found him guilty on four of the 24 counts. After another hearing, which took place on Friday, he sent him behind bars. Becker must immediately serve his sentence, although he denies guilt and can appeal the verdict.
