“They have to get out of the loose”: Mélenchon urges his left-wing partners to meet at the Legislative – Midi Libre

While the discussions between the PS and LFI with a view to a possible rapprochement in the legislative elections to be cut short, the leader of the Popular Union reaffirms his desire to “be elected Prime Minister”. “Let’s not leave full powers to Emmanuel Macron”. In the columns of the JDD this Saturday, Jean-Luc Mélenchon reaffirms his hope for unity on the left. “I think we are going to find an agreement” with the other left-wing parties” he hopes. However, after having recorded “points of convergence” in view of the legislative elections of June 12 and 19, the Socialist Party finally suspended negotiations with LFI yesterday. He wants, in his words, to oppose the “anti-social radicalization” represented by Emmanuel Macron. “In ten days, we have gone from the possibility of a referendum on retirement at 65 to a passage in force with blows of 49.3! “The MP for Marseille continues the warnings:” He lives above ground. For him, the social is a dead language. We have to stop it now, in the legislative elections. Afterwards, it will be too late.”, he insists. “The culture of defeat” “For us, the balance of power is much better than five years ago. Macron is weaker. The expanded People’s Union is 11 million votes. Our victory is possible. My project is not at all to limit the damage: it is about winning a majority to govern”, he affirms to our colleagues. “Why abandon what made 22% in the second round? ? Whoever takes the risk of refusing an agreement because of a logo and refuses a group in the Assembly, raise your hand! I’m waiting to see” he indicates before denouncing a culture of defeat and “loose” on the left. Warning “I warn: people will not accept twice to be robbed victory by those who refuse to build this new majority. The bad losers will be judged harshly”, assures Jean-Luc Mélenchon. For him, it is therefore necessary that the left respond to his “unifying” plan. “They must come out of the loose, everyone must assume the will to win. They have the permanent culture of defeat. So they allow themselves to be absorbed by internal issues…” deplores the leader of the Insoumis who sweeps away any “electoral grub” about this large gathering on the left.
