Hungary will pay more attention to Slovakia in connection with allegations against Kaliňák and Fico – HNonline.sk

The Hungarian government is closely following “unusual” events in Slovak domestic politics. This was stated on Saturday by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó. MTI informed about it. Szijjártó wrote on the social network Facebook that “according to reports, they want to send the opposition leader to prison”, so more and more focused attention is needed now. The National Criminal Agency has launched proceedings against former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is currently the leader of the opposition political party Smer-SD, and former Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, MTI recalls. The NAKA investigator accused them of the crime of founding, conspiring and supporting a criminal group, the offense of abuse of power by a public official, as well as the repeated crime of endangering trade, banking, postal, telecommunications and tax secrets. The judge for the preparatory proceedings of the Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok decided on Saturday afternoon to prosecute Kaliňák. The decision is not final. The Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic will decide on the defendant’s complaint.
