About 2,000 rockets and mortar rounds have been launched from the Gaza Strip in the direction of Israel since last Monday, since the start of hostilities between Israel and Hamas. This was announced by the Israeli forces (IDF), according to local media reports. Most of the rockets headed for inhabited areas of Israel were intercepted by the Iron Dome system. Previously, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported 113 deaths including 31 minors. On the Israeli side, the IDF confirmed on Twitter this morning a toll that speaks of seven deaths due to the rain of rockets launched from the Strip in the direction of Israel. According to the Israeli authorities, the Times of Israel points out, most of the victims in the Palestinian enclave are members of “terrorist groups” or people killed by rockets who did not reach Israel but fell inside the Strip.
