Protoseňa, a former chief accountant of Novatek, was a member of the board of the energy company. Its assets were estimated at around 400 million euros. He lived with his family mainly in France, they allegedly arrived in Spain for the Easter holiday. On April 19, they found the murdered family of former Gazprombank vice president Vladislav Avajev in a family home in Moscow. According to a preliminary version of the investigators, Avajev shot his wife and 13-year-old daughter and then committed suicide. According to the Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation dealing with this case, the motive for the act may have been jealousy and family disagreement.
