Difficult moments await Kaliňák: The prosecutor has submitted a proposal to take him into custody – Nový Čas

On Thursday, the ÚŠP prosecutor filed a motion with the Specialized Criminal Court to take former Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák into custody. This follows from the information provided to TASR by Dalibor Skladan, spokesman for the General Prosecutor’s Office (GP) of the Slovak Republic. “On April 21, the Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor’s Office submitted a proposal to take Dr. RK into custody, due to the so-called collusive detention,” Skladan said. Collaborative detention is used to suspect that the accused will act on witnesses, experts or co-defendants, or frustrate the investigation. According to the ÚŠP, the NAKA investigator accused Robert Fico, the chairman of Smer-SD, with Kaliňák, of the crime of founding, conceiving and supporting a criminal group, of abuse of power by a public official, as well as of repeated crime of endangering trade, banking, postal, telecommunications and tax secrets.
