Ukraine, Zelensky receives the ‘Courage Jfk’ award for the struggle for democracy

Will go to Volodymyr Zelensky, the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, the recognition that is conferred every year by the Foundation dedicated to the American president to underline the importance of the struggle for democracy. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation praised Zelensky for leading the country with “sincerity and clarity” against the existential threat posed by the Russian invasion. Zelensky’s “leadership has strengthened the determination of Ukrainians and the global population to protect and defend the human right to self-determination,” they add. Together with the Ukrainian president, Liz Cheney will also be awarded, the deputy who was among the very few Republicans who voted for Donald Trump’s impeachment for the assault on Congress, and is now vice president of the commission that investigates the events of 6 January 2021.
