Updated 12:08 21. 4. 2022, 11:02 Eduard Heger’s cabinet presented a plan to help people with high prices. The government will distribute one-off one-off contributions to five sections of the population. Families with children are also waiting for changes. Child allowances will increase and a new contribution will be made to the development of the child’s talent. The total aid for 2022 is € 260 million. Next year, the government will help the people with one billion euros. Each family will receive one hundred euros per child. Those children who are entitled to child allowances, including young people over the age of 18, are entitled. Households in material need and at risk of poverty will also receive a hundred-euro contribution. There are almost 60,000 people. Those who belong to this group and also have children are also entitled to a child allowance. Seniors over the age of 62, carers and assistants caring for the disabled and surrogate and professional parents will also receive the same allowance. In 2021, there were hundreds of thousands of children who did not go to any class. Every sixth child lives in a family below the poverty line. In Slovakia, 34 percent of single-parent families and 37 percent of single families with more than three children live below the poverty line. “Help for people is my red line. I am approached by people on the margins of society who have a really hard time. From this point on, I want to make sure that these people are not forgotten. We also don’t forget about people who can’t work because they take care of someone close to them. They will also go to the posts. Care and assistant allowances will increase. Families with children with disabilities will not be forgotten either, “said MP Jana Žitňanská. SaS officials did not come to the press conference because they did not agree with the proposals. However, MP Peter Pčolinský is convinced that SaS deputies will finally vote for changes in the parliament. “I do not expect the SaS to vote. It would be difficult to explain that they did not vote for helping families with children, “said Pčolinský. He thinks that the opposition parties Smer and Hlas, which called on the government to help the people, also voted in favor of the proposals.
