In France this Wednesday, there were 25,179 people hospitalized (-98 compared to the day before) including 14,634 in conventional hospitalization (-107) and 1,677 in intensive care (-4). This is the first drop in hospitals in France since the peak of contamination with the BA2 variant was reached a few weeks ago. For several days, new admissions had been falling in France. This slight decline in hospitalizations was therefore expected.
Since March 2020, 115,947 people have died in French hospitals, including 221 in one day. This is the highest total of deaths in 24 hours in France since February 23 (230).
