Jessica Simpson opens up about losing 100 pounds after her pregnancy

Jessica Simpson recounts her efforts to lose weight 0:58 (CNN) — Jessica Simpson wants you to know that she didn’t lose 45 kilos, or 100 pounds, overnight.
During a recent appearance on “The Real,” the singer-businesswoman said it took three years and “determined patience” to lose the weight. “I believe in setting small goals for yourself because, in my life, and how I’ve done it, there are very easy ways to give up and just feel like it’s impossible,” Simpson said. “So, setting small goals for myself was what helped me reach the main goal.” In early April, she posted a bikini photo to her verified Instagram account, writing, “I’ve gained and lost 100 pounds three times so I never thought this moment could or would happen but finally I’m on vacation from ‘spring break’ wearing a BIKINI!” “Effort, determination and self-love,” she continued in the caption. “Today I cried with pride.” On the show, Simpson mentioned that wearing a bikini was never her “goal” but that she was very proud of herself. Simpson shared that she gains a lot of weight during pregnancy, which is what happened with her daughter Birdie, now three. “I celebrate the pregnancy, but this last one was really hard for me,” Simpson said. “I don’t know if it’s because I was older, my hormones and all that, but Birdie made me stretch like crazy.
