The first trailer for “Thor: Love and Thunder” is here with a first look at a female Thor

Natalie Portman, Marvel’s female “Thor” 1:22 (CNN) — Marvel fans finally get what they’ve been waiting for: The studio just released the first trailer for its long-awaited summer movie, “Thor: Love and Thunder”.
Starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill from “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Tessa Thompson as the heroic Valkyrie, plot details for the film remain under wraps, as is often Marvel’s style. When we meet the well-groomed god in the trailer, he says he’s apparently given up on being a “superhero,” preferring to hang out with his alien friend Korg (voiced by director Taika Waititi) and make out with love interests from blue hair on what appears to be a flying pirate ship. It’s likely that an intergalactic evil brings Thor out of retirement from him, though the small teaser doesn’t hint at who or what that evil might be. There are a few cast members we don’t see in the trailer, though we wonder if that could be the back of franchise newcomer Christian Bale. But the trailer ends, crucially, with a shot of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as Thor. She may be a hero of the multiverse. The ever-secretive Marvel Studios probably won’t reveal much more until the film’s release on July 8. Until then, Thor fans will be wondering if Valkyrie will lead New Asgard to safety, how Thor fits in with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and when the seemingly indestructible Loki will show up, which he almost always does.
