Slovakia will be covered with a new dose of snow in the coming hours. The snow that will come will be even heavier and will bring more snow to some areas at this time of year, which can cause problems. The beginning of the new week was very surprising in the areas of northern Slovakia. Several parts of Slovakia woke up to a snowy morning, which did not bring only a slight dusting. The most snow fell under the Tatras and in the High Tatras, where the height of the new snow cover exceeded 5 cm. At the same time, snowfall awaits us in the coming hours, and it will be even more intense. Tuesday will be especially dangerous, when snow can come unexpectedly fast and in large quantities, which can cause problems. The snowfall mainly affects northern Slovakia. At this moment, cold and sea air is flowing into our area from the north. In the meantime, there is a lower pressure above the Black Sea, which will have a dominant effect on the development of the weather in our country in the coming hours. Already at night, it will move over Ukraine, where it will split up, and a new pressure line will be created over the Polish-Ukrainian border, which will begin to move through our territory towards Hungary. This will have a dominant effect on the development of the weather in our country. Numerous snow showers are expected during the day, especially in the eastern half of the area. At night, snowfall occurs mainly in the north, and by morning, a decent snow cover may fall on our cold areas again. In the morning, prepare in the north for well-snowed roads, but the most dangerous thing awaits us during Tuesday. Beware of white darkness In several places in our territory, there will be numerous showers, which will also be intense. In the north of central and eastern Slovakia, it should be mostly snowfall, but it will be dangerous. It will be especially dangerous because the snow showers will be severe and the clouds will be extremely variable. The sun may shine on the road at one point, but a few hundred meters further you can suddenly get into a heavy snow shower with heavy snow. Intense snow showers can be very dangerous, especially on the road. Numerical models expect it to fall even around 10 cm of snow.
