More than two thousand new coronavirus cases have been registered in Germany in the last 24 hours, which is the highest figure since 11 June. This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute, the government agency in charge of monitoring the progress of the pandemic in the country. The latest bulletin speaks of 2,089 infections and 34 deaths, updating the total to 3,752,592 cases and 91,492 deaths from complications. Yesterday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel appealed to the population to get vaccinated above all to counter the spread of the Delta variant.
