Covid, Sydney in lockdown at least until 30 July

The lockdown imposed in Sydney will be extended “at least” until July 30 in Australia, as part of the measures implemented to stem the new Coronavirus outbreak. This was announced by the premier of the state of New South Wales, Gladys Berejiklian, after having seen the latest data on infections that speak of 97 cases with local transmission for the day yesterday. For the local population, therefore, the obligation to go out only for work, medical appointments, expenses for essential goods and outdoor physical activity remains in force. Since mid-June, when the existence of an outbreak in the Bondi Junction area emerged, 864 cases of local contagion have been recorded, with 71 hospitalized, 20 of whom in intensive care.
