Cuban youtuber Dina Stars denounces detention during live interview

(CNN Spanish) – Cuban youtuber Dina Fernández, known as Dina Stars, denounced the presence of alleged members of the Cuban state security at her home during an interview she gave live to Channel 4 in Spain with the singer Yotuel.

In the middle of the conversation, the activist said that she would attend to the alleged officials and got up. Then he came back and reported that he had to leave. Before the conversation ended abruptly, he added: “I hold the government responsible for anything that happens to me.”

CNN has requested information from the Cuban authorities about the incident and we are awaiting a response.

Yotuel regretted what happened and commented that this was indeed a live arrest.

The images of the television interview show how a woman who was with Dina Stars, and who the presenter said was a contact of the channel in Cuba, tried to record the interaction between Stars and the agents without being seen.

The alleged agents of the State do not appear in the images nor is it seen if they take Stars. In the same room where the interview was conducted, there was a minor and a man whose face is not shown but who for a few seconds covers the computer camera.

CNN cannot independently confirm that the people who arrived at Dina Stars’ home were police officials. Nor has he been able to determine the whereabouts of the activist.

Dina Stars has been very active in social networks denouncing the government of Miguel Díaz-Canel.
