This morning, the regions of northern Slovakia woke up to a snowy morning. Not only was it not expected, but the surprise is the relatively rich snow cover, which has occurred in the north of Slovakia in recent hours. It is slowly becoming a habit that while warming comes at Christmas, cooling often comes with the arrival of Easter. This also happened during the year. On the other hand, it is relatively normal. April is known for its changeable weather, during which warm days can change quickly with very cold ones. This morning is sunny in several places, but this does not apply to the northern regions of Slovakia, which woke up to a relatively heavy snowfall, which continues even in these moments and has already brought a few centimeters of fresh snow. Most snow has fallen under the Tatras. Currently, our territory is in a cold and humid northern stream. Humid air from the Baltic Sea enters our area and it is in this air that numerous showers are formed, which are mostly snowy. This morning the most snow fell under the Tatras. They have already registered 5 cm of new snow in Poprad. At that moment, the snow shifted over Orava, Liptov and Horehronie. It is still necessary to take into account the snowfall During today as well as during tomorrow, it is necessary to take into account that the nature of the weather in our territory will not change much. Cold, humid air will continue to flow to us. Further showers are to be expected during this afternoon, especially in central and eastern Slovakia. However, much more significant snow showers await us during tomorrow, again especially in Central and Eastern Slovakia. A few inches of new snow could fall on them.
