The weather in our territory will deteriorate significantly on Friday. A cold front will advance through our territory, bringing precipitation and later cooling. However, his arrival will be accompanied by storms. Where is their most likely? We have the 1st Easter holiday behind us. This was marked by stable and very warm weather, during which temperatures in Slovakia were above +20 ° C. Temperatures have reached the +20 ° C limit even in the north of our territory. During Thursday it was the warmest in Záhorie and around Dunajská Streda, where temperatures reached a level of around +23 ° C. The coldest was in the area of ​​Gemer and Horehronie, where temperatures reached + 17 ° C. Easter thus started with significantly warm weather, which was above average. Compared to the long-term normal, it was 5 to 9 ° C warmer than is usual at the current time of year. However, the warm and nice weather has already rang and the weather will change significantly for the rest of Easter. The cold front will bring a change A fundamental change in the nature of the weather will take place in a few hours. On Friday, a cold front will advance from our territory from the northwest, which will bring precipitation. The first wave of precipitation will begin to move through our territory in the morning and will progress relatively quickly to the southeast. There will be no significant precipitation. Only a few millimeters will fall on our territory. A more interesting situation is expected in the afternoon, when storms may also occur. Storms threaten especially in the northwest At the head of the advancing cold front, the wind will begin to turn rapidly to the northwest and intensify. However, more precipitation and even storms will begin to form. The first storms should begin to form in the afternoon over Moravia and then advance over northwestern Slovakia, from where they will proceed further to the southeast. According to current predictions of numerical models, storms are threatening mainly in the Žilina and Trenčín regions, as well as in the whole of western Slovakia.
