Stock image. (CNN) –– The New York Fire Department reported that several people were shot at a subway station in Brooklyn, where “several unexploded devices” were also found. The agency did not provide further details about the devices found. But, he reported that when they responded to a smoke condition call at the 36th Street and 4th Avenue subway station at approximately 8:30 am local time on Tuesday, multiple people were found with gunshot wounds. Multiple law enforcement sources also told CNN that multiple people were injured by what appear to be gunshots at a Brooklyn subway station. The New York Police Department reported that it is investigating the events. “Due to investigation, please avoid the area of 36th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn,” the NYPD tweeted. “Expect emergency vehicles and delays in the vicinity,” he continued. The Transit Authority, which operates the subways, says they are also investigating “D/N/R trains are being held at stations in both directions in Brooklyn due to an NYPD investigation on 36th Street,” they tweeted.
