Ivanka Trump meets with commission investigating Jan. 6 insurrection, sources tell CNN

(Related video) The expensive security of Ivanka Trump and her husband 0:41 (CNN) –– Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump and former White House senior adviser, meets this Tuesday with the January 6 commission of the House of Representatives, two sources familiar with the meeting told CNN. In addition to being one of Trump’s closest advisers during his tenure, she held an elevated position from which she watched the events of January 6. She was with her father for most of the day and remained in the Oval Office for key meetings. The commission has already heard testimony from other White House officials who recounted that Ivanka Trump was in that office during a phone call her father had with then-Vice President Mike Pence. Lawmakers investigating the events asked her to appear voluntarily. So her meeting this Tuesday is not under subpoena pressure. The meeting happens virtually, according to one of the sources. Her husband, Jared Kushner, met with the panel last week. CNN has reached out to a spokesperson for Ivanka Trump and has yet to hear back. A commission spokesman declined to comment. NBC initially reported on Ivanka Trump’s meeting with the commission.
