Tropical Storm Elsa makes landfall in Florida

(CNN) – Tropical Storm Elsa is making landfall in Florida in Taylor County, according to an advisory issued at 11 a.m. by the National Hurricane Center.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 104.6 km / h, with stronger gusts. The storm will move inland and slowly weaken, but it is expected to remain a tropical storm as it moves up the east coast for the next several days.

Heavy rains will continue to be the main threat from the storm, but tropical storm-force winds, storm surges, and isolated tornadoes will continue east of the storm’s path.
