Extraordinary trip: US President Joe Biden arrived in Poland – New Time

US President Joe Biden flew from Brussels to Rzeszow, Poland, on Friday afternoon. TASR informed about this on the basis of a broadcast by the Polish public television channel TVP Info. The visit to Poland represents the second part of Biden’s extraordinary journey through Europe, initiated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Biden met with European leaders at NATO, EU and G7 summits in Brussels on Thursday. The White House said that during his visit to Poland, Biden would be aware of how the country was coping with the onslaught of Ukrainian refugees who had fled there from Russian shelling and bombing. In Rzeszów, the US President is also scheduled to meet with members of the US 82nd Airborne Division, whose task is to strengthen the eastern wing of the North Atlantic Alliance. The AFP agency recalled that the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also stopped in Rzeszów on March 5. He was visiting Poland to show his support for the countries of the so-called NATO’s Eastern Wing, which in the past belonged to the Soviet sphere of influence and which feared further action by Moscow in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The head of the White House will fly to Warsaw after completing the program in Rzeszów. According to TVP Info, the departure is scheduled for 5.45 pm CET. The visit of the President of the United States to our northern neighbors will last until Saturday.
