Heavy rains affect homes and streets in the State of Mexico

(Cnn in Spanish) — This Tuesday, the government of the state of Mexico reported through a statement that the heavy rains on Monday afternoon caused damage to various neighborhoods in the municipalities of Toluca, San Mateo Atenco, Lerma, Almoloya de Juárez, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Tlalnepantla, Naucalpan, Zumpango and Zinacantepec.

The Mexican state governor has preliminarily counted 161 affected homes in the municipality of Zumpango and 100 more in Rinconada de la Laguna.

The state government also deployed personnel from the Tláloc Group and Civil Protection in support of the population and the municipal authorities of Atizapán de Zaragoza, to attend to the damages registered by the intense hailstorm that this Monday precipitated in various areas of the Valley of Mexico.

The Atizapán de Zaragoza hospital registered water penetration and at the moment the authorities are cleaning the facilities.
