Speaker of the Speaker of the Parliament Michaela Jurcová stated that the National Council of the Slovak Republic is already transitioning to the normal regime. “In connection with your case, we received a notice today about the alleged storage of an explosive system on the premises of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The police immediately performed all necessary actions. The Press Department of the Office of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, which includes the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials (ÚOÚČ), added that the premises and surroundings of the National Council of the Slovak Republic are under constant police supervision. “Whenever a security problem is suspected, the situation will be checked in cooperation with the competent police forces and the necessary measures will be taken. This was also the case in the current case,” the ministry added. Speaker of the Speaker of the Parliament Michaela Jurcová told TASR that the risk had not been reported directly to the Parliament, the Police was supposed to inform the office. Jurcová clarified that the necessary safety measures had been taken in connection with the risk. Pyrotechnicians should also be on site. However, according to the spokesperson, the restrictions should not disrupt the functioning of the parliament or the ongoing meeting of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
