These companies “have the fastest adaptability (…) Ryanair, easyJet, Vueling, Wizzair will gain very significant market shares”, anticipates Marc Rochet, boss of the French companies Air Caraïbes and French Bee. “When we see the dynamics of the number of routes, the return of programs equivalent to 2019 levels, we realize that it is indeed this model which, in the short and medium-haul, is in the process of consolidating the market” , adds Didier Bréchemier, specialist in the air sector at Roland Berger. Conversely, projections show “a loss of 20% to 25% of business passengers compared to 2019, in particular on long-haul”, which will weaken traditional companies.
