Mikaela Shiffrin wins the big globe for the 4th time

In a hat and blue sunglasses, Mikaela Shiffrin clenched her fist when she saw her Slovak rival Petra Vlhova finish her journey very far from the Courchevel super-G podium on Thursday. The American, second in the race behind the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel, is sure to win the big globe, with 236 points ahead of Vlhova and only two races remaining to be played. This is the fourth time that Shiffrin (27) has finished at the top of the general classification of the World Cup, a triumph which comes a month after his disappointment at the Beijing Olympics (0 medals, three retirements in five races).
