Ukraine-Russia, Scholz: “NATO will not intervene in this war”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz thanked Volodymyr Zelensky for the “touching speech” delivered today in the Bundestag, in which the President of Ukraine asked Germany for more help to defend the country in the war with Russia. “But one thing must also be clear – added Scholz – NATO will not intervene militarily in this war”. “We are alongside Ukraine. Germany is making its contribution and will continue to do so,” said Scholz, recalling the sending of military aid and weapons to Kiev. Ukraine has presented a long list of heavy weapons it needs to defend against the Russian attack, including combat tanks, fighters and naval vehicles. So far Berlin has sent anti-tank and air defense weapons.
